How does Viddakraft work?
Viddakraft is a Norwegian joint stock company registered under business code 35.140 “Electricity trading”. We hold an official electricity sales license (omsetningskonsesjon) valid throughout Norway, issued by the Norwegian regulatory authority NVE. You can find the full list of licensed companies here
Is it enough to register, and you’ll handle the rest?
Yes! Just fill out the registration form – we’ll take care of everything. We’ll cancel your old contract, activate the new one, and handle all the paperwork. The entire process is simple, fast, and 100% digital.
Will the grid fee increase if I switch to Viddakraft?
No. The grid fee (nettleie) stays the same no matter which electricity supplier you choose.
In Norway, the grid must be neutral – the local grid operator sets the fee, and prices are regulated by the Norwegian authority RME, not by Viddakraft or any other supplier.
When should I report a move, and what about my contract?
Please notify us as soon as you know your moving date – at least 3 days in advance.
Keep in mind that changing your address in the National Registry (Folkeregisteret) does not automatically notify us – you must inform us separately so we can end or transfer your contract.
What does the electricity bill consist of?
Your electricity bill includes:
– the energy price (spot price),
– a fixed monthly fee,
– the grid fee (set by the local grid operator),
– any government subsidies or support (e.g. strømstøtte),
– and a small margin from Viddakraft.
Everything is clearly shown on your invoice and in the app – each component is listed separately.
