How to get started?

Welcome to Viddakraft – a company built on honesty, transparency, and low electricity prices. We’re changing the Norwegian energy market by offering a simple and secure way to switch providers. Whether you’re a new customer or moving to a new home – you’re in the right place.

Below you’ll find everything you need to know to get started with Viddakraft. The process is fast, digital, and takes just a few minutes.

1. Switching providers or registering a new meter?

If:

  • You’re switching providers – simply fill out our easy online form. We’ll cancel your old agreement and start the power supply with us.
  • You’re moving to a new home – register with your new meter number. You’ll find the meter number directly on the physical meter as shown in the photo below.

You don’t need to understand any technical details – our system will guide you step by step. If your meter looks like the ones shown in our guide, it’s most likely an automatic meter – no manual readings required.

2. Identity verification

Under the new regulations, all customers must verify their identity securely:

  • Have BankID or Vipps? Great – you log in in seconds.
  • Have a D-number? Contact us – we’ll prepare a manual agreement and guide you through the verification process with a trusted partner, such as a law firm.

3. Sign the agreement

Once registration and verification are complete, you’ll receive a ready-to-sign electricity agreement from us by email.

4. Power delivery is activated

As soon as the agreement is signed, we take over the delivery. No need to contact your old provider or grid owner – we handle everything for you.

Need power from “yesterday”? It’s technically possible, but we strongly recommend registering in advance of your move to avoid unnecessary costs.

5. Access the Viddakraft app

Once your supply is active, you automatically get access to our app where you can:

  • track your usage,
  • monitor electricity prices,
  • view invoices and payment history.

6. Invoice

Between the 1st and 7th of each month, you’ll receive your electricity invoice – both for actual usage (from Viddakraft) and grid transmission (from your local grid owner).

Summary

Important technical and practical notes

  • Electricity meter: 99% of meters in Norway are automatic. If your meter looks like those shown in this article, you don’t need to send any readings – data is sent to us automatically by your grid provider.
  • Meter number: If you’re moving to a new address, we need the meter number to activate the delivery. You’ll find it directly on the device.
  • Activation time: Electricity delivery can only start at the beginning of a full day (00:00). You can’t choose a specific hour.
  • Backdated activation: Backdated activation is technically possible, but you’ll receive temporary electricity from your grid provider, which may be more expensive. That’s why it’s best to register before you move.
  • Deactivation: You cannot end electricity supply retroactively. We can terminate supply no earlier than two days after your notification.
