From June 1, 2025, all electricity providers in Norway are legally required to verify the customer’s identity before a new electricity contract can start or when taking over a meter. This regulation strengthens security in the electricity market and protects consumers against unauthorized supplier switching. See the regulation on Lovdata §2-2.

At Viddakraft we use secure solutions for identity verification. For most customers, BankID is a fast and safe method. For customers without BankID, for example with a D-number, we offer a manual process.
Whether you are moving into a new home, switching your electricity agreement to Viddakraft, or ordering your very first electricity contract, your identity must be verified.
This is how it works at Viddakraft:
- If you have BankID: Order your electricity contract online here.
- If you do not have BankID: Contact us, and we will set up a manual agreement with you in a digital meeting.
- If you order by phone with SMS confirmation: You need to complete online identity verification after the order. We will send you further information shortly after your order.
